Ciao Bella Gelato began in a kitchen in New York's Little Italy using traditional recipes from Torino along with the culinary inspiration that has become the company's hallmark. Soon chefs from the city's finest restaurants and hotelsbegan requesting Ciao Bella gelati and sorbetti to serve to their patrons. Over the past twenty years Ciao Bella's reputation has grown to become America's leading purveyor of artisanal ice creams. Exceptionally delicious flavors such as Vahrohna Chocolate, Scharffenberger Chocolate, Fresh Mint, Blackberry Cabernet, and Blood Orange consistently earn Ciao Bella prestigious culinary awards and the applause of leading chefs and food critics alike.

Gelato
Gelato (pronounced jeh-laht-o) is a thick and rich Italian-style ice cream. Ciao Bella contains only 20% air by volume, compared to 60% in most American brands, and contains only 12% butterfat versus 16% in typical ice cream. Ciao Bella's gelato is based on a family recipe from Torino, Italy and is primarily hand-made in small batches with high quality ingredients. As a result, the gelato is smoother and creamier in consistence, with a dense texture and an intense flavor.

Sorbet/Sorbetto
Ciao Bella's Sorbetto (pronounced sohr-bet-o) is a blend of 70%-80% fruit with just a touch of water and sugar to achieve a smooth constancy. Ciao Bella's sorbet does not contain any colorings or any other artificial ingredients. The sorbets are also dairy-free, fat-free and cholesterol-free (except coconut and chocolate which contain natural fat and milk).
